Ace Branding for Thought Leaders

The client approval process

Last updated: November 2026

Do I get to approve my article before it is published?

Yes: Ace Branding submits nothing for publishing until you approve the final draft.

Ace Branding's press process has seven steps, and approval sits in the middle of it. The editorial staff interviews you, writes a draft, and keeps editing with your team until you sign off. Only then does the article go to the contributor and the publication.

The seven steps, from questionnaire to live link

  1. Step 1: Complete the press questionnaire and schedule an interview

The questionnaire takes about six minutes and puts you in the queue for your articles. When selected, the team contacts you to schedule a live interview.

  2. Step 2: Editorial staff writes the first draft

A writer turns your interview into a rough draft about you or your company, built on your story and chosen topics.

  3. Step 3: The editing cycle runs until your team approves

You review and edit. Revisions continue until your team approves the final draft. Nothing moves forward without that approval.

  4. Step 4: The final draft goes to the contributor

Once approved, Ace Branding submits the final draft to the contributor.

  5. Step 5: The contributor submits it to the publication

The contributor submits the article for approval with the publication itself.

  6. Step 6: The publication approves and publishes

Once the publication approves the article, it publishes it.

  7. Step 7: The link goes live

Your published article is live and can be shared, linked, and found when people search your name.

Why does approval matter for thought leaders?

Your name is the brand

A company can absorb an awkward quote. A thought leader often cannot, because the person is the product. Approving every draft means each published article says what you mean, in a way you are comfortable with, before it carries a publication's name.

A stated difference from traditional PR

In Ace Branding's comparison, narrative control is one of four points where it differs from traditional PR, alongside no retainer, guaranteed results, and Reputation to Revenue Consulting. The founder, Luke Hessler, had a bad PR experience in 2018 and committed to being the change he wanted to see in the industry.

How can I keep the process moving?

The editing cycle depends on your team, so prompt feedback keeps things on schedule. Ace Branding offers an interview prep video to help you get ready for the editorial interview. Come with the topics you want covered and one or two stories that show your expertise in action.

After approval, steps four through seven are handled by the contributor and the publication, and each publication runs its own review. Ace Branding does not publish a fixed timeline, so ask for an estimate on your consultation.

Do I get to approve my article before it is published?

Yes. Ace Branding states it will not submit anything for publishing until you approve the final draft. The editing cycle continues until your team signs off. This approval step is how the firm gives clients full control over their brand narrative, which it lists as a difference from traditional PR.

How does the Ace Branding article process work?

The process has seven steps. You complete a press questionnaire and schedule an interview. The editorial staff writes a first draft. Editing continues until your team approves the final draft. The final draft goes to the contributor, who submits it to the publication. Once the publication approves, the article is published and the link goes live.

What is the press questionnaire?

The press questionnaire is the first step of the Ace Branding process. Completing it places you in the queue for your articles, and it takes about six minutes. When you are selected, the team contacts you to schedule a live interview, which becomes the basis for your first draft.

What happens in the editorial interview?

A member of Ace Branding’s editorial staff interviews you about your story, expertise, and the topics you want covered. Ace Branding says every story is unique and told in a personalized way, so the interview shapes the angle of your article. The firm also offers an interview prep video to help you get ready.

What happens after my draft is approved?

After you approve the final draft, Ace Branding submits it to the contributor. The contributor submits it for approval with the publication. Once the publication approves, it publishes the article and the link goes live. These are steps four through seven of the seven-step process.

How long does it take to get published?

Ace Branding does not publish a fixed timeline. Timing depends on how quickly the interview is scheduled, how many editing rounds your team needs before approving, and each publication’s own review. Ask for a current estimate on your consultation, and keep your feedback prompt during the editing cycle to avoid delays on your side.
